This Thing Needs to End!

Everytime I turn on the news or tune into a radio station, all I hear being spoken, is that of Big Ben. This thing needs to end, already!

He was not charged with any crime, so therefore he is innocent, but since the media in Pittsburgh think he's a jerk, they keep on bashing him.

Everyone and their sister has came out of the woodwork telling stories about how Ben didn't sign an autograph for their kid, or how Ben wouldn't sign something for them while in public.

It's not just one or two people, calling into radio shows proclaiming that Big Ben's an ass, it's numerous accounts of him being sloppy, a dick, arrogant, and anything else that paints him in a negative light.

Smoke usually equates fire, so yes, he's probably a doucher to people he doesn't know, but I really don't care.

As a low level Minor League Player I stayed after every game and signed every autograph, that was ever requested. You might be thinking that someone asking for your autograph is an honor, yes it is, but it's also a nuisance.

After you just went 0-4 with no quality at bats, the last thing you want to do, is sign an autograph. Now let's multiply that by a million in comparisions to Ben. You might have thrown two picks and lost, and everywhere you go in Pittsburgh, every person asks for an autograph, I side with Ben's dickish personality, to a point.

The accounts of his off-season actions aren't as forgiveable though. Yes, the accounts in the police report paint Ben as a Creep (didn't the Mullet and porn stache do that already), but Ben is still a college frat boy at heart. I assume the girl didn't tell him to stop, even though she told police that she did.

This is what happened in my oppinion. She went to the bathroom with Ben, they had sex, she thought she would be more than a fling by equating sex=love, Ben only wanted to get his rocks off, than was a big jerk to her. She admitted to her friends what happened, they talked her into filing charges...boom, Ben's image is ruined.

A two game suspension with a heavy fine should be in order. It saves face for the Steelers, it saves Goodell, it won't affect the team terribly, because Dennis Dixon will have a long time preparing for the first two games, so the Steelers could win on all acounts, in regards to this suspension.

The former stories of Ben being a jerk should subside once training camp starts, because you will see a new Ben. Much like Tiger Woods, he has to start from scratch and win over the detractors. If you didn't get an autograph before this incident, get your pen and paper ready now, because Ben will be squeaky clean from now on. Sure, he might still be a jerk at heart, but you won't see that, anymore.

If the Steelers trade Ben, I will burn all of my Steelers gear and became a Browns fan, he means to much to my heart. Once he starts playing again, and starts winning, you all will forget this. I don't care what Ben does off the field, who he is a jerk to, if he signs autographs or not, and if he is a bad role model, all I care about is when the Big Number 7 wins games for me.

You should only care about what he does on the field as well. You don't have his money, his status, his life, or his problems. Most of the readers of this blog have done worse to women in the past, so get off your moral high-horse.

If their was cameras on Fitzgerald Road, you would look like a creep too!
