Panic at the Disco Dan

"Have you guys ever seen a flock of ducks flying in perfect formation? It's beautiful. Pretty awesome the way they all stick together. Ducks never say die. Ever seen a duck fight? No way. Why? Because the other animals are afraid. They know that if they mess with one duck, they gotta deal with the whole flock. I'm proud to be a Duck, and I'd be proud to fly with any one of you. So how about it? Who's a Duck?"

Let’s get a few things straight first off; this is not 1993, nor do any of our players remember that team. Crosby was still playing with GI Joes and Malkin was still breast feeding vodka.

Have we now figured out that Montréal is a good team, and that they can score goals? Mike Cammalleri is no Rocket Richard but the dude can flat out score. That backhander last night, top shelf was a thing of pure beauty. Reminded me of the days when this guy (being me the Great Mario) used to fill the net more than the great one himself.

Ok, got a little side tracked there, sorry. What has Montreal done well to force a game 7?

1) They play defense like the Penguins of the last two years. The Canadians get in the lanes and know how to block shots.

2) They will give up the shot, but you won’t get the rebound. They play great team defense and for their size they are very physical.

3) Offensively, they are exploiting Pittsburgh weakness by taking it wide and getting right on top of the Penguins D. They have used their quickness to counter Pittsburgh aggressive defensemen.

Where can the Penguins improve if they look to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals?

1) All the talk right is going to be on Geno and Sid and how they are going to have to produce for the Pens to advance. I totally agree. I understand the Canadians run a trap and force you to dump the puck deep, but at times it looks like Sidney just doesn’t even try to bring it in with speed. They both have been great at controlling the puck in the zone, but we have to start generating better chances then a Kris Latang 50 footer from the side of the boards.

2) GO GO needs to learn that he is a defenseman and not a forward. Yes Paul Coffey was the man at jumping into the play and scoring but he picked his times. Alex needs to learn that in tight games like these, he needs to stay back more than jump into the play. Case and point, last night on the game winning goal. He was out of position and never really got back and it cost them.

3) Finally, Disco Dan can you please stick with the lines. Pony is going to play in game 7. Stick him with Geno, and Talbot. Leave Kuntz and Old man Billy G with Sid. Cooke, Kennedy and Jordan will do the dance on the 3rd line, and Rupp, Adams and Letestu will bang on the 4th. Also, it's time to put back in Jay McKee. NO offense Leopold but we need more D.

Wednesday will mark the 3rd time in the last two years Pittsburgh has faced a game 7. This will be the first time though they will be playing at home. It's time Sid! Leave the golf clubs in the bag for another month and lets lay the beat down on Habs in Game 7.
